1 out of 3 migrant girls
have already skipped school at least once because they can't access Menstrual Products
.

Nowadays, more than 800.000 migrant girls and women are living in Colombia. They are coming from Venezuela and passing through illegal crossing points, risking their lives. They face any kind of violence just because they are young and women. Do you know the main cause? Menstrual poverty. A ten-sanitary-towel box costs 110% of the minimum Venezuelan wage. Migrant young women in Colombia cannot afford these products.

But, how is this the cause of gender-based inequalities? Menstrual poverty directly affects migrant girls' welfare, protection and dignity by creating barriers in the access to work, education, and healthcare services and products. In fact, when they skip school, migrant girls are more likely to develop physical and emotional pathologies as consequences of the lack of dignity in their menstrual hygiene and healthcare.

With your support we will change it!
Together, we want to eradicate menstrual poverty (SDG1), guarantee the access to health (SDG3), to education (SDG4) and gender equality (SDG5)  for migrant young women enrolled in the Colombian-Venezuelan border. With your donation we will deliver Menstrual Products, Menstrual Health Education and Self-Protection practices.
