In our Rehabilitation Center and School of Special Education, we serve children and young people with all types of neurological-cerebral disabilities, providing them with recreational and therapeutic activities, and we help their families with psychological therapy and support.
80% of the families we serve are made up of female heads of households, who suffer different degrees of discrimination, for the simple fact of having a child with a disability.
These women face family disintegration, severe economic problems, lack of access to quality medical services, lack of support to provide education and specialized therapies to their children, and lack of flexible jobs (among others). This context puts their psycho-emotional stability at risk, generating symptoms of anxiety and depression, and since they are the only financial provider of their families, they are forced to not attend to themselves and present complex chronic processes, which increase their health problems and worsen their socioeconomic environment. CURRENTLY DUE TO THE PANDEMIC, MANY SUFFERED THE LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT, EXTRAORDINARY EXPENSES, OR DECREASED FINANCIAL RESOURCES AND HOSPITAL CARE, WHICH MAKES THEIR CIRCUMSTANCE MORE PRECARIOUS AND REQUIRE DIFFERENT EXTRAORDINARY SUPPORT.
With this Project, we will produce ONE Photo Magazine (picture storybook), with graphic format, covering the most relevant topics, which will be uploaded to the platform. This graphic and empathetic guide they will help them understand in a simple way, the experience they face and will guide them to search for Support Networks and Organizations that provide them attention and accompaniment. The Photo Magazine will be made available at no cost (Digigtal form) and will be aimed primarily at women who are mothers of children with different disabilities and thus find themselves in a vulnerable situation, due to the significant ignorance that unfortunately prevails in our society regarding these issues of utmost relevance. AT THE END OF THE MAGAZINE WILL BE PROVIDED A MAPPING LIST OF ORGANIZATIONS THAT CAN MEET YOUR IMMEDIATE REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS FREE PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT, FREE LEGAL SUPPORT, DELIVERY OF PANTRIES, LOCATION OF BANKS, ALLOWANCES.
In addition, we will provide a monthly group therapy (free of charge) to help them generate the connections and networks with other women who face similar contexts. This will give them the necessary tools to be resilient and find opportunities to which they do not have easy access, such as free Basic Education Programs, Self-Employment, and Psychological Counseling to deal with Violence (among others). We will also arrange meetings amongst them, as well as with Therapists at the Foundation, to work as a team. The results of the program will benefit the children who suffer from neurological-cerebral disabilities.
THE RESULT WILL BE THAT YOU AND WE GIVE YOU CLOSE ACCOMPANIMENT, IN A MORE FRIENDLY WAY BY HAVING A TESTIMONIAL ACCOUNT IN THE MAGAZINE THAT PROVIDES IDENTIFICATION WITH YOUR PARTICULAR CASE AND APPROACHES WHAT YOU NEED MOST, SUCH AS LEGAL COUNSELING EXAMPLE OF VIOLENCE, PSYCHOLOGICAL IN CASE OF DEPRESSION OR ANXIETY, ETC. BY SUPPORTING OUR PROJECT YOU WILL PUT A WOMAN'S REACH OF A GUIDE TO MOVE FORWARD, AT A TIME WHERE IT IS DIFFICULT TO KEEP HOPE, AND WHERE ALL SUPPORT IS NECESSARY WE NEED YOUR EMPATHY, HELP US TO SPREAD OUR CAMPAIGN AND THE SERVICES WE OFFER, CLOSE TO US, THERE ARE ALWAYS WAYS TO HELP WHEN YOU HAVE THE INTENSION.
