Help children in Latin America behind bars during the global pandemic.
Social distancing is not possible for children in detention.
As the COVID-19 pandemic has spread, juvenile detention centers are going on lock-down, removing non-essential staff such as teachers, psychologists, social workers, and volunteers and leaving minimal staff, often only security staff, and barring families from visiting their children. These children are more isolated than ever, but still at high risk of contracting COVID-19.
You can help right now.
Help us raise $5,000 to provide the following to up to 500 children in detention in Latin America:
- Soap and hand sanitizer
- Toilet paper
- Sports balls
- Books, notebooks and board games
- Telephone and video calls with parents
- Video classes to replace lost schooling
As juvenile detention centers go into lock down in Mexico, the physical and emotional health of the children living inside of them is at risk. Help us guarantee a safe environment for the children in detention in Mexico during the COVID-19 pandemic. Consider making a donation today!
On behalf of the children in detention and on behalf of all of our staff, I want to wholeheartedly thank you for your kind donation.
