Collegiate Mentoring Program

To and through college!

Latin American Educational Foundation

Our story

To and through college! Not only does LAEF provide access to education for Hispanics by providing scholarships, we also want to make sure our recipients make it to the finish line by graduating from college and earning their degree. Many of our students are the first in their family to attend college and a little extra support goes a long way. By implementing a Collegiate Mentoring Program, LAEF will connect scholarship recipients with a Mentor from our Young Professionals Board. Mentors will serve as a resource and connection for our scholarship recipients during their studies, guiding them and helping them to be successful during college and beyond. The financial support of the community will allow LAEF to create a strong program that will provide a variety of resources and services to our students  to ensure the success of the program.

Why it matters?

LAEF wants to ensure that our scholarship recipients not only go to college, but that they thrive in college and make it to the finish line. With Hispanics being the fastest growing population in the United States, it is critical that we empower them to succeed by increasing their graduation rate. LAEF will track program success and graduation rates among scholarship recipients.

How will the funds be used?

Funds raised will cover the cost to implement the program including: program supplies, kickoff event supplies (food and beverages), outings with Mentors/Mentees, travel costs for Mentors and care package materials for Mentees.

As a first generation college graduate, I value the importance of supporting Latino students by advocating for higher education attainment. A college degree opens doors to a better quality of life. I'm proud to support organizations like LAEF!
