Farmworkers’ COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund

Justice for Migrant Women and other farmworker-serving organizations are raising immediate funds to help keep farmworker families safe from COVID-19 as they work to feed us.

justice4women

Our story

Farmworkers feed the world through their labor, bringing fruits, vegetables and other crops to homes across the nation. Their work is critical, yet they and their work have not been properly valued. Farmworkers earn poverty wages, work under substandard conditions and face a myriad of health and other issues due to their living and employment conditions.

Given this reality and the onset of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Justice for Migrant Women and other farmworker-serving partner organizations are gravely concerned about the health and welfare of the farmworker community, their families and the security of our entire food supply. While political leaders are swiftly taking measures in order to contain the outbreak, slow the spread of the virus and save lives, decisions are being made that have an impact on the lives and livelihoods of workers, including farm workers. It is our hope that as these plans are being devised, farmworkers are not forgotten or left behind.

To this end, Justice for Migrant Women is joining with HIP to raise funds to address the immediate needs and mitigate the risks to the farmworker community. Funds raised will be given directly to the farmworker community during these uncertain times. The financial support will help farmworkers purchase basic needs for their families, like groceries and hygienic supplies; pay for utilities and other expenses; and assistance to offset medical costs and to aid in purchasing medical supplies. Please donate $_25_ today to help support the farmworkers who feed our nation.

Justice for Migrant Women (J4MW) aims to ensure that all migrant women are guaranteed human and civil rights, including the freedom of mobility, the ability to live and work with dignity – without fear of sexual violence and the right to be free of threats of violence against them and their families, whether they are migrating across borders, around regions or within states. Justice for Migrant Women protects and advances migrant women’s rights through education, public awareness, and advocacy.
