Every day, people cross borders to flee violence and war, escape persecution and to seek a better life. When migrating, women and girls can face sexual violence, trafficking and a lack of access to fundamental healthcare.
Women’s Link Worldwide is taking on cases of Venezuelan women migrating to Colombia who are being denied urgently-needed sexual and reproductive health services just because they are migrants.
This year, thanks to the work of our attorneys, our client Isabel*, a pregnant teenage girl who migrated from Venezuela to Colombia, was finally able to access the medical services she desperately needed. Isabel came to Colombia in search of the medical attention needed to carry out her pregnancy in good conditions, like so many other pregnant women leaving Venezuela. But this right was denied. Women’s Link took her case to the courts and not only got her the medical care she needed, but also set a powerful precedent that will help other migrant women. In its ground-breaking decision, the Colombian Supreme Court stated that “Venezuelan migrant girls and women, due to their vulnerable status, cannot be denied health care.”
Join our fight to ensure that more women and girls like Isabel have access to the sexual and reproductive health services they need. Your support is vital in making this important work possible.
Give today to take a stand for Venezuelan migrant women’s rights!

Where will your donation go?
Your donation will enable our attorneys to travel to the Venezuela-Colombia border to work with our clients and to identify new cases of Venezuelan women and girls who are being denied access to their sexual and reproductive rights. It will also allow us to cover the administrative fees related to the litigation of these cases before the Colombian courts and other judicial bodies.
Your support is essential because Women’s Link accepts no government funding, allowing the organization to be fully independent to speak out against laws and policies and bring cases against States that hurt women and girls.
