Virtual NALEO 37th Annual Conference Service Project – Farmworkers’ COVID-19 Relief Fund

Our story

NALEO Conference Participants:

Every year, in conjunction with the NALEO Annual Conference, NALEO Educational Fund joins with a local nonprofit organization to give back to the community.  As a result, NALEO Educational Fund, Conference participants, and corporate and community partners ensure a meaningful and lasting impact on the host city.  This year, the Annual Conference was scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, but the COVID-19 pandemic prevented us from moving forward as planned.  Instead, NALEO Educational Fund is hosting its first Virtual NALEO 37th Annual Conference, which include its first virtual Service Project.  NALEO Educational Fund will launch a social media and fundraising challenge that will benefit two worthy causes.

  • Farmworkers’ COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund is a joint campaign of Justice for Migrant Women and Hispanics In Philanthropy, which is raising immediate funds to help keep farmworkers and their families safe as they work to feed us.
  • Three Square is a local Las Vegas food bank that provides services to the residents of Lincoln, Nye, Esmeralda, and Clark counties.

We understand that resources are scarce at this time; however, we appreciate any support you can provide to these two organizations.

The Farmworkers’ COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund is a joint campaign of Justice for Migrant Women and Hispanics in Philanthropy aimed at raising funds to address the immediate needs of the farmworker community and mitigate the risks of the pandemic.  Now, more than ever, farmworkers need our support during these uncertain times.  All funds raised will go directly to farmworkers to help them purchase basic, yet essential, items.

As a daughter of a migrant worker, I know this type of work is taken for granted. Farmworkers and migrant workers have always been essential, and their work is undervalued. With the pandemic, it has exacerbated this reality. Thank you NALEO for selecting Farmworker Pandemic Relief Fund to be a recipient of the service project. Thank you HIP for facilitating this fund. – Councilwoman Villarreal, City of Santa Fe, NM

Que diosito bendiga our farmworkers! I’m a proud son of a farmworker who with his immigrant hands fed this nation. Que vivan los trabajadores y trabajadoras del campo.
